Terms of Service
We have terms and conditions designed to ensure that you are treated fairly as a customer and we are treated fairly as a retailer. By buying from our online store, you automatically agree to these terms and conditions, so we want to clearly explain what they are.
As with a real-life jewellery store, we cannot guarantee that every item in our shop window will always be available, although we do everything we can to avoid disappointing you. If you see something you like but we don’t have it in stock, we will tell you as quickly as possible. Our website and store should be online 365 days a year but we cannot guarantee this, as we are subject to issues relating to the internet that we can’t control. Please note that the colour of the jewellery you see on your screen can never be 100% true to life. The appearance will depend on the kind of screen you have and how it is calibrated. No personal information you supply when you buy from us will ever be shared with a third party. Finally, all the visual and written content on the website is the property of Sofie Ladefoged Jewellery and we will protect it by all legal means. You may not use any of it without our formal, written approval.
When you make an order we trust that the information you have given us is accurate and true, that you are over 18 and that you are authorised to use the payment card. Your card will not be charged until the time your jewellery leaves our shop. In other words, you will only be charged if the item you want to buy is in stock.
We will email you to confirm we have received your order. The delivery will be made by our selected, specialist courier service. When your jewellery is on its way, you will be sent a tracking number so you can see where your package is. Deliveries in Denmark will be made to your nearest package shop. In other countries the delivery will be made to the postal address supplied.

Taxes and duties
These are outside our control but you need to be aware of them. If you are ordering from a country in the EU, you will need to pay Danish VAT but no import duty. If you are ordering from a non-EU country, you don’t need to pay Danish VAT but you may be charged an import duty. If there are any import or customs fees that you need to pay, the delivery company will let you know. It is your responsibility to pay these charges. Sometimes, customs clearance can cause a delay to delivery. Sadly, this is something we cannot control or influence.
Refunds and returns
If you are unhappy with your Sofie Ladefoged Jewellery - something that we hope and expect you will never feel - you can by all means exchange it or ask for a refund. There are some conditions but we hope you will see that these are very reasonable. You must contact us within 14 days of delivery. The jewellery must not have been worn for any other purpose than simply trying it on. If it is clear that it has been worn or treated in any way that diminishes its value, we will not allow a return. You must return the item(s) in the original packaging. Each refund can only be made to the payment card used when the item was bought. We do this transaction as quickly as possible but aim to have your money back in your account within 10 working days of safely receiving the returned jewellery. You will not receive a refund for the cost of the return delivery. The safe return of your jewellery is your responsibility, so we strongly recommend that you choose a delivery service that can insure the package and allow you to track its progress. If you have chosen to exchange your jewellery item for another Sofie Ladefoged item, you still need to return the product you don’t want, using the process we’ve just described. Then you will need to place a new order. If you buy jewellery as a Christmas present and you make your order in December before the Christmas holidays, we will happily refund or exchange your purchase provided you notify us before January 10th in the new year.
How to return your jewellery
In the unlikely event that you need to send your jewellery back to us, please follow these simple steps so we can help you as quickly as possible. Contact email@example.com and let us know what you’re going to send us, so we can be ready to deal with the issue. Return it good as new. You must use the original packaging to ensure the jewellery arrives safe and sound. Please also include your proof of purchase and any tags still intact. It’s fine if you’ve tried on the jewellery but if it’s clear that it has been worn other than to see if you like it, or treated in any way that diminishes its value, we cannot accept a return. Protect it en route. We recommend insuring the package for the full account and choosing a shipping method that allows you to track it. Remember, it is your responsibility to get the jewellery to us safely. We cannot accept responsibility for anything lost or stolen in transit. Leave it to us. Once we have checked the jewellery you have returned we will email you. If a refund is due, it will be applied to the payment card, gift car, bank or PayPal account you used to make the purchase. Please allow 10 working days for this transaction.

We can only refund your shipping costs if the jewellery was sent in error or is faulty. And we will not refund any sales tax or duties payable if you made your purchase outside the EU.
